Terms of service

Last updated:

These terms explain the rules for using PDFacile. We have tried to keep them short and readable. Please take a few minutes to go through them.

Accepting these terms

PDFacile is operated by Your Company Ltd ("we", "us"). By using the website and its tools, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

PDFacile provides free online tools to work with PDF files, such as merging, splitting, compressing, converting, rotating, watermarking, protecting and unlocking documents. No account is required.

Files are processed on our servers and deleted as described in our privacy policy. Each file can be up to 100 MB, and rate limits apply to keep the service fair and stable for everyone.

Acceptable use

You agree to use PDFacile lawfully and responsibly. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Upload files you don't have the right to use or process
  • Upload malware or files designed to harm our systems or other users
  • Remove or bypass passwords or restrictions on files you are not authorized to unlock
  • Use bots, scripts or scraping to access the service beyond normal use or our rate limits
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, probe or gain unauthorized access to the service
  • Use the service to infringe the rights of others or to break any law

Your content

You keep full ownership of the files you upload and the files we produce from them. We don't claim any rights over your content.

You give us only the limited permission needed to process your files to provide the service you requested. That permission ends when the files are deleted.

Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep PDFacile available and reliable, but we can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue any tool or feature at any time, for example for maintenance or security reasons.

We may also block access for anyone who breaks these terms or puts the service at risk.

Limitations of the tools

Conversions, such as PDF to Word, may not reproduce complex layouts perfectly. Scanned PDFs are not currently processed with text recognition (OCR). We cannot recover forgotten passwords or remove an unknown password required to open a file.

Always keep a copy of your original files and check results before relying on them.

Disclaimer

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Because the service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the maximum extent allowed by applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date above. If you keep using the service after an update, you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled by the competent courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country says otherwise.
