Contracts, letters from an administration, user manuals or research papers often arrive in a language you don't read fluently. Translating the whole PDF in one go is faster than copying paragraphs into a translator one at a time, and you keep the document's structure.
Choose PDF to get a file that looks like the original, ready to read or forward. Choose Word when you want to review and correct the translation before sharing it.
The text is read from the PDF and grouped into complete paragraphs, headings, list items and table cells, so whole sentences are translated rather than line fragments. Only that text is sent to the translation engine; the file itself is not.
For a PDF result, each paragraph is covered with its background colour and redrawn in the new language in the same place. Longer translations are wrapped and slightly reduced to fit. Repeated headers and footers stay as they are, and scanned pages need OCR first.
You can translate between English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Romanian, Swedish, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, Russian, Ukrainian, Greek and Vietnamese. The source language can be detected automatically.
With the PDF output, yes: images, tables, colours and positions stay the same and only the text changes. Translations are often longer, so some paragraphs are set in a slightly smaller size.
A scan is a picture of text, so there is nothing to translate yet. Run it through OCR PDF first to make the text readable, then translate the result.
No. The upload is deleted as soon as the translation is done, and the extracted text is not stored. The translated file can be downloaded for 30 minutes, then it is deleted automatically.
